Strategy and solving problems

Advertising and media agencies are so enamoured by data, technology, performance, and creativity.

They forget that really, our business is all about problem-solving.

Clients come to us to solve a problem that they have in their business. And we use our brains to come up with frameworks and plans and ideas on how to solve those problems — whether through creativity, data, technology, or precision performance campaigns.

I wonder what would happen if ad and media agencies did revert back to what we were originally designed to do: SOLVE PROBLEMS.

I think these two industries will be able to stave off the threat of consulting companies. They will also be able to demand more for their products. And clients will want their voices on the board room even more.
